Miscellaneous

By way of showing examples of work we do in more modest dwellings; I thought I would drop in a few before and after photographs of a couple of projects I recently did in my own humble abode.

I was quite pleased with the kitchen refit as it was carried out on a very tight budget, using run-of-the-mill Ikea units with solid oak worktops and flooring.

We kept wall units to a minimum to give an illusion of space at eye level and replaced an existing window with new French doors, which opened out onto the garden.

In order to give the kitchen a more ‘hand-made’ feel, I built a small Welsh dresser with a tiled counter to match the wall tiles.  Finally I added a good quality table and chairs to give it a homely rustic look.

Loft Conversion & Garden

From the photos below you can see the extensive work undertaken on the back of the house whilst we converted the loft into two en-suite double bedrooms, one with a balcony overlooking the garden, and a play room.

We also built a very pleasant decking area we enjoy in the summer.

Garage conversion to studio flat

Originally a disused garage, we decided to convert this into a separate dwelling.

I completely demolished the existing garage and lean-to and built an ‘L’ shaped house complete with shower room with W.C., a fully functional fitted kitchen and a separate open-plan lounge/bedroom area.

For additional storage, we built a loft area with open access at each end to utilize every square foot of useful space.

Inside, the garage has been transformed into a self-contained studio flat with a fitted kitchen, shower room, toilet & a decent sized living area.
